I make music and program computer things.  See some of the things I have made here, on this website.

Michael Sperone has been interested in computers since playing on his uncle's Apple IIe when he was a kid, and has been playing drums since about the same time.  So it's only natural that he combine the two to create his music.  Michael's music often involves computer augmented instruments, creating hybrid electronically-modified sounds.

He began studies as a percussionist, he studied with Tom Kolor, Gary Van Dyke, and Peter Jarvis at William Paterson University.  He studied composition with John Link during his undergrad, and then went on to study with Du Yun and Hwang Ruo.  As a performer, he's appeared with the New Jersey Percussion Ensemble, Newband, Mad Coyote, Mantra Percussion.  As a composer he's had his works premiered by NJPE, Joe Bergen, Purchase New Music Ensemble, Red Oak Contemporary Ensemble, and Jay Sager.
As a programmer, he's worked with composers and artists, including John Morton, Florian Meisenberg, and Joseph Morris.  He currently resides in New Orleans with his lovely wife Kathleen and their dog Miley.
